Scrap fabrics, waste materials, found objects, collage, sequins.

This series explores how those alienated by dominant social forces may seek identification with particular role models. The works are inherently camp and representations of the religious and heteronormative narratives such as the ‘Madonna and Child’ are instead subverted to ‘Madonna and Wilde’ - two idols whom are often celebrated by the queer community. Also included as one of the idols is Saint Sebastian, whose image and narrative has often been adopted by the queer community for its associations with martyrdom and expulsion from society.
